DAY 0

The Flight

JFK~OGG

PRO TIP: if you are taking connecting flights hold on to your headphones!!

We wanted to make our flight to Maui as easy and as comfortable as possible. Two carry-ons with our valuables and essentials, snacks included, two suitcases that were checked, comfy clothes,  and some CBD for good measure.

FOR A MORE LIVELY AND DETAILED VERSION come see us LIVE on:

Most comfy clothes we had were from Highly Humble sweats and hoodies because we can both wear them, the fit is great and they are sooo comfortable! I personally wanted to wear the sweat pants myself buuuttt, Josh wouldn’t give it up. (Im wearing them as I write this XD)

As you can see, we are maintaining our distance from others, wearing our masks, as well as using our Air Defender for extra protection, obviously you can’t see that part, but the nice part is that we can spray it literally everywhere, even on our faces, which was nice.

PRO TIP: when going through TSA, each device goes into separate bins or you will have to rejoin the line and do it all over again. We had four computers, that equals 4 separate bins, one for each. Also, try not to accidentally leave the airport lol. We made that mistake in Atlanta and had to go through TSA all over again SMH.

Switching flights was not as much of a hassle as we initially expected but that was really thanks to us uploading all of our information on the Hawaii Safe Travels website. ANYONE traveling to Hawaii needs to upload their vaccination and COVID-19 status.

Not gonna sugar coat it, it was kind of stressful getting on the plane. The plane was packed and no one was 6ft apart BUT everyone kept their masks on, except when eating. I highly recommend The Good Patch if you want to be stress free, pain free from sitting in one position for 15 hours AND wake up feeling refreshed. It will also help you to fall asleep.

Just be cautious and observe all the rules and you should be fine.

Our connecting flight in Atlanta did not take off right away because OMG there was a glitch due to the heat but in the end everything went smoothly.

Upon arrival we were greeted by our lovely friends Lori Lewis of Everyday Maui Live and Steve Holden, also known as Old School Coach, who showered us with fresh garlands hand made by a local as well as a beautiful bouquet of fresh native flowers. We definitely have the greatest friends. These would be the same awesome friends who invited us to their home in Albuquerque and now, in Maui.

In the next photograph you will see the garlands after they were dried for 17 days, a beautiful little work of art by Maui Bling which she gifted to us, as well as a baby coconut that we found on the streets of Kahoma Village, which is where we were located for the majority of our stay.

Here’s an Instagram HIGHLIGHT REEL for some footage of Josh and I fighting over who gets to carry the bags, Josh freaking out over his bag being on “the other side” and me getting my WINGS from the pilot!!

Welcome to Maui..
