My Journey to the Raw Bowl..

I, Tasha, am not a medical expert, but I noticed that when I eat a lot of raw fruits and vegetables in addition to whatever else I’m eating, I experience less inflammation in my body. I have arthritis and the only full proof way I know how to eliminate my pain is through incorporating lots of raw fruits and vegetables into my diet.

Some believe that people as young as I am don’t get arthritis; to them it’s all in my head. Well.. When I wake up in the middle of the night crying because my hands are on fire, it’s not “in my head.” Turns out, I’ve suffered from a Vitamin D deficiency since I came to America (I was at 12% when 80% was ideal.)

First it was noticeable with my hair around age 13, but no one believed me, my age being a good reason. At 20 it became more obvious.

After seeing an endocrinologist, I found out about my “D” deficiency and began taking steps.
At 23 I had a nasty fall and ended up in the ER. After an x-ray of my back I was told I have an arthritic spine (I’ve always had a perfect spine according to my doctors so I was shocked). At 27 I began experiencing carpal tunnel; started working a lot with social media as well so that didn’t help.

By age 30 I was waking up in the middle of the night from pains in my hands. Josh would rub my hands until I could fall asleep again, which interrupted his sleep.
This was not something that happened over night. It was gradual and eventually became unbearable.

Originally I controlled the pain with CBD. It did not cure my arthritis, BUT I was living pain free with no negative side effects. BUT THEN, I went on a meat binge and ended up getting those pains back. I had no idea that the amount of meat I was eating caused the inflammation until a few months ago. I traced it by eating meat with cooked food and then switched to eating raw bowls. When I ate meat with cooked food, the arthritis would get to the point where I would need help getting out of bed. I wasn’t even able to lift myself up without Josh’s help. This was from eating meat and cooked food three days in a row without any raw fruit or veg. As soon as I switched to raw bowls, within 24hrs, all of my pain went away. I then started eating a combination of the two but I had to keep the ratio where it was significantly more veg than meat in order to keep the inflammation from coming back. Again, I am not a medical expert, but this has been my experience. If I want to binge on meat (not like I used to binge obviously) I just use my CBD stuff and I get through it. I recommend Feeling Fabulous Cosmetics. They have a line called “Feeling Fine” made specifically for pain relief.

Here’s a simple recipe to get you started with raw bowls and you can amp itup with many different toppings like our Bean Salad or Pico de Gallo as seen on Instagram Reels @tashandjoshktchen.
